In 2012, photographers Danny North and Andrew Whitton saw a gap in the festival market. With their combined photography experience, they decided to revolutionise it by creating the festival photography model we see in the UK today.
Over the years that have followed, Andrew and Danny have used the knowledge they gained on the festival scene to hone an unmatched understanding of the type of lifestyle photography that is central to all types of events and their marketing. Together, they have created a talent pool of brand-savvy, award-winning photographers. This pool goes by the name of Fanatic.
Fanatic believes that investing in photography is instrumental in making an event a success. If you’ve spent months of work (and a lot of money) on creating an event, you shouldn’t take a risk with the photography – simple. Those photographs will develop the appeal of your event and are what future consumers will see first. They will be the lasting documentation of your brand in action. Stand Out Moments
We’ve been with some of the UK’s biggest festivals since they began, namely Lost Village, Citadel, Festival No.6 and Snowbombing. This makes us an essential part of their brand and marketing journey.
Apple Music Festival – Fanatic were trusted with this huge annual event that took over the Roundhouse in Camden every September for 10 years.
Superdry Sounds – this brand activation event was the clothing brand’s first music venture and Fanatic were responsible for capturing it.
Bacardi Triangle – we travelled to the Bermuda Triangle to document this one-off brand event. Luckily, we all made it back.
Red Bull Music Odyssey – in 2018, this first-of-its-kind event saw Fanatic sent nine of its crew to capture it on land, water and even in the air.
In 2018 Fanatic swept the board with 4 awards at the Event Photography Awards, including the top prize of ‘Best Overall Winner’.
Fanatic were featured in Creative Review’s Photography Annual 2018, in the ‘best of marketing’ category for our Wilderness analogue work.
It’s Nice That also included Fanatic’s Wilderness analogue work in their ‘best of 2018 photography features’.
Our photographers have also gained impressive recognition for their own work; with two making it in to the prestigious National Portrait Gallery’s Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize, regarded as the best photographic portrait exhibition in the world.
